Korean Weekend

Is it the garage-turned restaurant atmosphere? The K-pop? Being open 24-hours? The joy of cooking meat on your table and catching up with friends with cold Korean beer? Or maybe it's the cute shirts that say "I heart Honey Pig"?

Jumuluk (marinated boneless ribs), beef brisket, jalapenos and onions, spicy pork belly and kimchee (not pictured). The table liked the jumuluk and spicy pork belly the best, the first for being tender and flavorful wrapped in lettuce, the later for its interplay of pork fat and spicy kimchee. Soon doobu (spicy soft tofu stew). Hot and bubbling :)
We also ordered some Naengmyeon (buckwheat noodles in a cold broth with egg, Korean pear and cucumber.) The server cuts the noodles with scissors and you're off. The cold noodles slip down my throat, and the cooling effect made me happy...and want another bowl.
