Cooking at Home

My boyfriend's a great dining partner. He likes to eat almost anything. Some foods we like are not available in restaurants here, so we have to prepare them ourselves. Luckily we both like to cook. Nothing says summer quite like somen.

Arrange the cooked somen noodles in bundles on a bed of ice. Prepare a dipping sauce of somen dashi, fresh grated ginger and scallions. Dip the noodles into the mixture and slurp. Repeat until full.

Roasted acorn squash seeds. More delicate in flavor than pumpkin seeds, roast for 10-15 minutes in a 400F oven.
My better half's vegetable curry rice, with fresh radish pickles.
I thought it was a little odd to eat hot curry during the summer, until I tasted it. Wonderful.
