While I was preparing for a business trip of my own, my boyfriend headed out to Philadelphia for a concert. Philly has some wonderful local foods, including cheese steaks and pork, provolone and broccoli rabe sandwiches. On a mission to find both, he was too late to pick up a pork sandwich from Di Nic's at Reading Terminal, but grabbed a cheese steak from a local bar before heading to the show.
While it was good, the sandwich lacked an inexplicable something. Perhaps he, like me, likes the non-traditional cheese steak with mushrooms, peppers, onions, lettuce and tomato along with the cheese and thinly sliced beef.
